The requirements for membership in the Ethernet Alliance are:
  • Publicly display a legitimate business interest in the IEEE 802 Ethernet standards
  • Publicly support the IEEE 802 Ethernet standards by shipping or developing products, Ethernet networks or enabling technologies employing the IEEE 802 Ethernet standards, or by issuing press releases in support of the IEEE 802 Ethernet standard products or networks
  • Pay the annual dues for Applicant's desired level of participation. The initial annual dues are payable upon membership acceptance.

Once your application is received and approved, you will receive notification of acceptance via email. Once accepted, an invoice will be generated. Payment can be made by check, credit card or wire transfer. Note: your membership will not be activated until payment has been received.

Principal (Lifetime Membership)

Description:

Principal Members ($10,000/year) - the only members of the Ethernet Alliance with voting rights. Principal members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors and chair member working committees.

Benefits:

Principal members have the ability to influence the direction of the Ethernet Alliance with their voting rights, everything from which member working committees get formed to who sits on the Board of Directors. As the highest membership level, Principal members also have higher priority for events such as conference speakerships and interoperability trade shows.

Participating (Lifetime Membership)

Description:

Participating Members ($5,000/year) are eligible to participate in and chair working committees. Participating members do not have voting rights and are not permitted to serve on the Board of Directors. Participating members have priority over Sustaining members for events.

Consulting (By Invitation Only)

Description:

This membership level is reserved for non-profit corporations, universities, etc. that have been invited by the Board of Directors to participate in the Ethernet Alliance.
